Today’s post in the A -Z Music Fan Connection is related to my post about kids and music festivals. I had a blogger, messymimi, make a great comment on my K post: “There’s times for adults only, and times when it makes sense to make room for Junior, and I’m glad that’s being done.” I absolutely agree – and that is where The Rockin’ Nannies come in.
As I mentioned during my K post, there are more and more family-friendly music festivals going on these days. But there are absolutely times when the kids need a break from the action. As a mother who has worked on music festivals for more than a decade, I can personally vouch that breaks from the action are crucial to everyone’s sanity.
The Rockin’ Nannies are a group of creative, education professionals who have experience running large event child care, are CPR and first aide certified. If you are lucky enough to find them at the festival you are attending, you can expect the highest quality evening childcare. Created by music aficionados Barbra Anne Schneider and her husband Brad, the Rockin’ Nannies and their staff understand the specific needs of parents and children they are serving. Take for example, Rockin’ Nannies’ East Coast liaison, Jackie Horne. A preschool teacher and a mother, Jackie is also an experienced festival-goer and has navigated the live music scene with her own two children.
Movies, snacks, games, crafts and lots of TLC are provided in a secure and safe environment with indoor plumbing, electricity, heat and air conditioning. Children get to meet new friends and enjoy a few hours away from Mom and Dad… while Mom and Dad can check out the music and feel confident that their kids are being well cared-for.
The Rockin’ Nannies recently announced their two childcare options for this year’s High Sierra Music Festival, including a nightly Rockin’ Slumber Party, and Superstar Treatment pre-booked private childcare in the RV and family camping areas.
You can follow the Nannies on Facebook and Twitter, as well as make reservations through therockinnannies.com.
Rock on, Nannies!

I’ll have to let my mom friends know 🙂
Cool, thanks for spreading the word. It’s such a neat endeavor, IMO.
Fabulous! It’s hard to balance being a parent and doing the grown up stuff. You want to do both, and this helps make it possible.
Thanks for helping inspire this post!
